#9 the other hand

this was quite a good book, but I think they over-marketed it. The thing about it is that you're not supposed to tell anyone anything about what happens, because its such a 'special' story. Knowing this leads you to think there will be all kinds of twists and intrigue and basically just a an over-expectation which is of course very difficult to meet and usually ends up in disappointment. Not that I was disappointed by the book - I just think they did it a dis-service marketing it in that way. The story was special and I was taken by surprise by some of the little plot twists but it could have been even better if I hadnt had these expectations.
It was yet again one of these sad stories - why do I keep getting drawn to those - must find some happy stories

Try the Jamie Novel, it's happy :) (well, mostly)

well ,I might give one a go, but "Scottish Highlander from the 18th century, and his time-traveling wife, Claire" doesnt really sound like my cup of tea. However, her CV/background does inspire me a bit - maybe I too can go from academic to novel writer
